The body of school teacher Shubhi Singh, who had been missing for five days in Shravasti district of Uttar Pradesh, was found on Sunday near the village of Jeevanrayanpur in Dingurajot, in the Rapti River. The body was immediately taken into custody by the Naveen Modern police station of Shravasti and sent for post-mortem. Following this incident, the police registered a case of abetment to suicide against five staff members, including the school manager, based on a complaint filed by Shubhi’s father.

Background of Shubhi Singh and Circumstances of Disappearance

Shubhi Singh, a resident of Chakwa village in Bhinga Kotwali area, was employed as a teacher at St. Anthony Public School. On Monday morning around 11 am, she left home intending to go to school but did not return. When she did not come back by late evening, her father Rajesh Kumar Singh and other family members began searching for her and filed a missing person report that same night.

Police Investigation and Discovery of Suicide Note

After the missing person report was filed, the police searched Shubhi’s room. During the search, they found a handwritten suicide note in which she made serious allegations against the school management. The note stated that the school manager had already dismissed her from her job and had subjected her to severe harassment during her tenure, which led her to decide to take her own life. Based on this note, her father filed a complaint with the police accusing the school management of harassment and abetment to suicide.

FIR and Legal Proceedings

Following the father’s complaint, the police registered an FIR against the school manager and four other staff members on charges of abetment to suicide. Legal proceedings under the relevant sections have been initiated. The police stated that the identification of the body is confirmed and they are awaiting the post-mortem results.
