Amid dense darkness and adverse weather conditions, the Indian Air Force completed a swift airlift mission, transporting a critically ill 30-year-old civilian from Leh to Palam Airport. This mission demonstrated the Air Force’s promptness in emergency situations.

Mission Details

Late Saturday night, on very short notice, the Indian Air Force used a C-130J Super Hercules aircraft to transfer the patient from Leh to Palam Airport in Delhi. Upon arrival at Palam, the patient was immediately admitted to AIIMS Delhi, where he received necessary medical care.

Air Force Preparedness and Action

The Air Force stated that full preparation, effective coordination, and precise timing were essential to successfully complete the mission under challenging conditions. Despite dense darkness and poor weather, the aircraft safely delivered the patient to Delhi.

Features of the C-130J Super Hercules

The Indian Air Force operates 12 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft manufactured by Lockheed Martin. These planes are primarily used for military operations, troop and essential cargo movement, relief work, and delivering supplies in difficult geographical areas.
