Shraddha Dubey Evades Lucknow Police Again: Surrender Plan Fails, Inspector and DCP Penalized
3 min read
Shraddha Dubey, the main accused in the Shiva Sharma murder case in Lucknow, once again outsmarted the police by breaking the prepared surrender plan. Despite a fully arranged surrender script, she gave a statement to the media and fled before the police arrived, raising questions about two senior Lucknow police officers—Inspector Vikram Singh and DCP Central Vikram Veer.
The Surrender Plan and Its Collapse
According to police sources, a surrender script for Shraddha Dubey was prepared on Sunday. The plan was for her to first give a statement to the media, then surrender at the police station, and finally have the case registered as culpable homicide (violent homicide) instead of murder, implicating both Shraddha and her sister Rashmi. After this process, the police intended to make Shraddha a witness and reclassify the case as a suicide.
However, Shraddha did not accept these conditions. She wanted the case to be registered as a suicide and to be made a witness while completely excluding her sister Rashmi. Because of this, she spoke to the media before the scheduled time and fled before the police arrived.
Police Search and Errors
Shraddha Dubey was being searched for from Raebareli to Lucknow and from Gorakhpur to Nepal. She had been in Lucknow for three days but called the media to a mall basement and gave a statement. When the police arrived after receiving information, she had already escaped.
Related Stories
The police had also filed a surrender application in court against Shraddha, who had been absconding for nine days, which pressured them to save their credibility. This led to the preparation of the script, but there was a serious lapse in its execution.
Impact on Inspector and DCP
Inspector Vikram Singh, posted at Hazratganj police station in Lucknow, is considered one of the most influential and powerful inspectors in the city. He was responsible for arresting Shraddha Dubey quickly and uncovering the case. Even after nine days, no solid leads emerged, and after the press conference, Shraddha fled again. As a result, the inspector was placed on notice.
DCP Central Vikram Veer was monitoring the case. Following this failure, he was also put on waiting status, increasing the likelihood of an internal police investigation.
