NCB Busts Two Synthetic Drug Labs in Greater Noida with Seizures Worth ₹45 Crore
2 min read
The National Crime Bureau (NCB) conducted its largest operation yet against illegal drug trafficking in Greater Noida. Based on confidential intelligence, two underground synthetic drug labs were uncovered, where high-quality synthetic drugs worth ₹45 crore, large quantities of chemicals, and advanced manufacturing equipment were seized.
Details of the Operation
NCB raided two separate labs inside a residential house. Along with the finished drugs, raw chemicals, reactors, chromatography setups, and other sophisticated equipment were found. A foreign national and two main Indian suspects were arrested during the operation.
Home Minister’s Response
Following the operation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised the NCB team on the social media platform X. Reiterating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to a ‘Drug-Free India,’ he stated that the government aims to eliminate all drug cartels and syndicates by December 2029.
Questions Raised on Local Police Surveillance
The failure of the local police to detect such large-scale drug manufacturing has become a serious concern. According to sources, the lab was operating inside a normal residential house, and the local police have now begun questioning the house owner and residents. Large drug networks were also busted in Greater Noida during 2024-2025, but the discovery of such a lab again in 2026 indicates lapses in surveillance.

The arrest of the lab operators is not considered the end of the network. Investigative agencies are now working to trace the source of the chemicals and identify the distribution areas for the finished products.
